My Advanced Camera Rig I’m Taking to CES 2025
You get to see for the first time the advanced camera rig I will be trying out at CES 2025. I have been going to the Consumer Electronics Show for the past 15 years (yes, that includes the Virtual CES years), and I’ve always embraced the newest, alternate gear to get the shot.
In 2009, I bought a flip camera, soldered a microphone jack to the PCB, and made a cage to get interviews and other content. That year, iPhones started getting external options (such as microphones) so they could also become recording devices at these events.
My rigs have been fairly interesting for the first 5 years, with going to more solid options for the next 5.
Once coming back to CES live, I had to keep my rig small and portable. The DJI pocket cameras really helped with that, and the Insta360 RS 1 also gave me options.
This year, I’m pushing the system by trying to do a *Multi-Camera Shoot* right on the floor. 2 cameras and a device that can not only switch between, but also add graphics and music.
